A discussion was held on the creation of a road map for economic cooperation in the field of high technologies


Gor Melikyan, the first deputy Minister of High-Tech of the RA had a meeting with Francois-Henri Cloarec, head of the Economic Department at the Embassy of France in Armenia and Georgia. The idea of creating an economic cooperation roadmap for the high-tech sphere was discussed during the meeting. 

Mr. Cloarec was introduced to the structure of the Ministry, to its realized and planned actions and the main fields of activities which include the policy of the RA Government in the fields of communications, information technology, information security, post office, high technology market and military industry.

‘’The promotion of the high-tech industry is the main goal of the Ministry, in this regard, the priority for us is to achieve new cooperation, to reach new markets and international projects’’- said Melikyan.

Francois-Henri Cloarec  mentioned that high-tech is a priority field for France as well․  He emphasized the importance of start-ups and underlined the common goals for both sides. 

Close cultural, educational, scientific and historical ties between Armenia and France create favourable conditions for cooperative development in high-tech sphere.

It was also noted that a plan of action to promote cooperation would make active cooperation and partnership possible. Therefore, the First Deputy Minister proposed to discuss the interests of both sides, to find ways of cooperation, to draw up a plan of action, to create a road map for Armenian-French cooperation in the field of high technology.

Melikyan introduced the details of the “ArmHiTec-2021”  International Exhibition of Arms and Defence Technologies  and “Engineering city” program.  
Francois-Henri Cloarec expressed a wish to form a delegation of French companies and visit Armenia to see the possibilities on the spot.

At the end of the meeting, the parties noted that the Armenian-French business projects are realistic, and an agenda for further activities, action plan and road-map will be drawn up.
