Armenia army's General Staff chief attends CSTO Military Committee session
Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Lieutenant General Artak Davtyan today attended the session of the Military Committee of the Collective Security Treaty Organization held in Moscow and devoted to the development of military cooperation of CSTO member states, as reported the news department of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.
The participants of the session discussed the challenges of and threats to military security in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia and approved the unified vision of the General Staffs of the CSTO member states in regard to neutralization of the threats.
Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov informed that it is envisaged to hold four joint military exercises within the scope of the “Combat Brotherhood 2021” operative-tactical military exercises.
Summing up the results of the session, Chairman of the CSTO Military Committee, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces-First Deputy Minister of Defense, army general Valery Gerasimov stated that the future actions for improvement of the CSTO’s military component have been specified and voiced hope that the decisions taken during the session will help establish and maintain stability in the CSTO member states.
